Editorial Policy

Our editorial goal is to publish useful, location-specific information that answers a real user question without disguising generic text as local research.

Source preference

We prefer primary sources in this order: responsible city or county agency, state agency, federal agency, public utility or special district, then established nonprofit or institutional sources where appropriate.

Unique local content

Changing a city name inside a generic template does not count as local research. Pages intended for search indexing should contain city-specific facts, responsible authorities, source links and a verification date.

Updates

Material changes to fees, eligibility, deadlines, ordinances and application procedures should trigger review. Pages that can no longer be verified may be marked for review or excluded from search indexing until updated.
